Where Did French Bulldogs Originate?

French Bulldogs, one of the most popular breeds of dogs, were originally bred in England during the 19th century. It is thought that the breed was created by crossing Bulldogs with Parisian Terriers, hence the name “French”. Later, the breed was selectively bred to create the short, pug-like, thick-bodied dogs we recognize today.
